Poria Extract is a powdered product derived from the dried nuclei of Poria cocos, a fungus of the Poraceae family, manufactured through the traditional high-temperature reflux cooking and aqueous extraction process technology. The main components of Poria cocos extract are polysaccharides, triterpenes and fatty acids. Among them, Poria polysaccharide (Pachymose) is the main component, with a content of 84.2%. The polysaccharide in Poria extract belongs to fungal polysaccharide, which is the signature component of Poria, accounting for 70%~90% of the dry weight of Poria.
Poria cocos extract is widely used in beverages, food, and pressed confectionery to improve the taste and flavour of these products.
