    Adamantane CAS 281-23-2 is mainly used for the synthesis of specific drugs such as anticancer and anti-tumor drugs. It can also be used to prepare advanced lubricants, photosensitive material surfactants, insecticides, catalysts, etc. The hydrogen on its bridgehead carbon atoms (i.e. 1, 3, 5, 7) is prone to substitution reactions. For example, adamantane reacts with excess bromine to produce 1-bromadamantane; React with nitrogen dioxide at 175 ℃ to produce 1-nitroadamantane; Oxidize with chromium trioxide and acetic acid to produce 1-adamantol. Its derivatives can be used as drugs, for example, 1-aminoadamantane hydrochloride and 1-adamantane ethylamine hydrochloride can prevent and treat influenza caused by A2 virus.
